Hello tdf

Thank you for writing!

It could be the start of peri-menopause, yes. This has a lot of women in their 40s running to get tests. The first sign is a missed period. Periods can then come every 2-3 weeks or even 5-7 weeks; it's incredibly annoying to deal with.

This is all a part of the natural cycle of life but you can also talk to your doctor about this, for reassurance, if you wish. Also, you can also get pregnant at this time, especially if your cycle has become irregular so use caution if you want to avoid this.
Best,
Susan
