Q:

I'm 49 years old and my periods are still regular, but within the last 6 months 2-3 days prior to my period my energy level is zapped. I exercise 5 days a week at Curves and consider myself in great shape, what is causing this??

Hi galibra,
Have you gone 49 years without having period fatigue? Consider yourself very lucky. Fatigue brought on by your period is very common.

Eating well and exercising are the common things to do to try and boost your energy levels but calcium is very important during your period. Try drinking milk, this may help. If you have concerns, contact your physician. I hope this helps..

Good luck, Missie
