I always try to avoid drug therapy however 6 months ago the path lab test showed eColi. With a past history of UTI my doctor advised 7 injections of Gentamicina, 14 days of Cipro tabs &5 months of Macrodantina 100mg,.... I have followed the therapy well and still I have burning and ichiness... I fear going back to the doctor for just more antibiotics... Also I am using Premarin cream which seems to give me extra sensitivity.... what do you suggest????

Anon - It can be very frustrating to have recurrent urinary tract infections. Even when there are several in a row from the same cause, there can be slight diferences in the bacteria that are causing separate and distinct infections. You do need to return to your doctor and provide information on all that you've experienced so that the two of you can find a solution for this. In the meantime, this link provides a lot of helpful information that can assist you: http://kidney.niddk.nih.gov/kudiseases/pubs/utiadult/

Good luck to you!
