Hi, I'm going to be having colonoscopy done in about two weeks something keep bothering me but I don't know what is it exactly. It's my first time going through such thing and I'm scared of the preparations as being on the liquid diet and I'm mostly scared of the anesthesia. I don't know how I would feel after I wake up and I'm scared of this to. What would you think I can do since I feel scared like this? For such procedure does the doctor put them in a report and be able to get copies of the results? Please let me know soon.
Thank You,
Melissa

After you have recovered from your colonoscopy, your doctor will provide you with a copy of the procedure report, complete with pictures, and tell you what was found. Most often, patients are told whether something of concern has been found or not and what the follow-up plan is.

Thank you for your reply. Just one thing I'm wondering, next week is when I'm having colonoscopy done and I'm a small person do you think I should tell my doctor because of being small for them to use small tubes? Does it make sense for me to tell my doctor if yes should tell him in advance or day of my test? Please let me know soon.
Thank You,

Melissa,
Yes, you should discuss with your doctor any concerns you might have before the procedure.

Hi Melissa6666,
A colonoscopy should not hurt since you will be sedative. Most people will not experience any symptoms after the procedure and can go about their regular daily functions. The Anesthesia is the only thing you will probably need time to recover from. It's important to discuss with your doctor any concerns or questions you might have before the procedure. Hope this was helpful?

Daisy

Thank you for your reply. Your answer was helpful just one thing I'm wondering which is the colonoscopy procedure does the doctor write a report regarding the results or they just do their job doing colonoscopy? I'm wondering because I want to know if I'm able to get copies of the results? Please let me know.
