Four years ago I started birth control(pills) and everything was fine. Then month after month I didn't get a period. I stopped bc after 1 year. Then I started getting one period per year. For two years I've only had two periods. Now I started this year on July 9th and it hasn't stopped. It started with it being very light to regular but with clots. I need to know why this could be happening.

Hello that1girl_96,
Welcome to the EmpowHER community. You need to speak with your gynecologist today.
When you first started taking birth control pills, were you prescribed a type to prevent or limit the number of periods? If not, is your gynecologist aware of your history of limited periods per year?
Bleeding for three weeks is abnormal. I can only surmise a serious hormonal imbalance is the cause. But, your gynecologist knows your medical history and the particular oral contraceptive prescribed.

I don't have a gyno. I went to a free clinic for teens. I was 15.

Hello that1girl_96,
Do you have a primary care physician or pediatrician? If so, schedule an appointment or go back to the clinic for teens. You need to be seen in person and evaluated. We cannot diagnosis over the internet.
