Issues with my cervical spine

I am getting physcial therapy for my upper neck I am experiencing woozie feelings that are quite debilitating. I am told it is the C-1 through C-3 cervical spine that is the culprit and the PT says in his 30 years he has never seen such a tight neck. Am I doing the right thing? Can this be fixed by a PT? I am getting very discouraged, going on 6 weeks now. Thanks in advance for any thoughts.

Hi Carol

Thanks for your question and I'm sorry you are in so much pain.

First, I need to ask how you got this injury/condition on the first place. Was it an accident or injury?

Physical therapy can do wonders for injuries and alone, can often treat the problem entirely, but this isn't always the case.

Your feelings of wooziness (do you have nausea or other symptoms?) mean you need to look into this further. Have you had any x-rays to check for a mass or lump in this part of your neck? If not, it's advisable to do this. I'm not suggesting that anything serious is wrong (at all) but your symptoms, if connected to your next pain, could mean you have an infection in your neck or some sort of mass that needs to be examined.

I hope this helps you and please keep us updated,
