I had my periods on 5th September and had sex on 14th September, we used protection but it got stuck inside me while he was pulling out, though he was quite sure that he didn't ejaculate inside me,I took an I pill after 2-3 hrs of the incident. After 4 days of taking the pill,I started bleeding like I would on my period for 3-4 days. was it an early period or withdrawal bleeding? I haven't got my periods in October till now. Is there a chance of pregnancy? Or is the pill messing up my cycle?

Hello sera,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns.

There is no chance of pregnancy because you had vaginal bleeding after taking the emergency contraceptive. That is the sign that the pill worked.

Do not be surprised if your next period starts earlier or later than expected. Some women report changes in their menstrual cycles as a side effect. Menstrual flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

Maryann

Hi sera,

That's right. Nothing to worry about. Your period will return to normal, if not this month, certainly by next month.

Maryann
