I have been having very heavy periods. They last a full 7 days. I just finished my period on monday. I woke up this morning and started bleeding again. the clots are huge. should i be worried? I am 37 years old. i cant have kids and my husband got a vasectomy a few years ago to make sure we do not have any surprises.

Thank you for visiting the EmpowHER community and sharing your question. I am sorry to hear that you have been having such heavy bleeding.
According to The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, heavy menstruation includes periods that last longer than seven days and bleeding heavy enough to require changing a tampon or pad at least hourly for several hours.
How long have your periods been like this? I am a bit concerned about the blood clots and think that alone warrants a call to your doctor. I would call him or her today and see if they can get you in.
