Is it normal for a period to last longer then 2 weeks in girls age 12

SMy daughter missed her period for about 5 months and now she has had her period for over 2 weeks. Would like to know if this is normal for a girl just starting to get her cycle regulated; or, if it is something I should take her to the doctor for.
