Is the pull out method okay 20 days before your next period on an 27-31 day cycle more like 29-30 day? I did that and I'm worried of I'm going to become pregnant. What if he precame? He said he masturbated earlier in the day, I can home and I'm moist inside and it's clear watery is that sperm or just me? What should I do am I going to be pregnant?

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns.

The pull out or withdrawal method is not the most reliable birth control method. It takes a lot of control for the guy to pull out before ejaculating.

If he ejaculated before he pulled out, there is a good chance for pregnancy.

With a 29 to 30 day menstrual cycle, you probably ovulate around day 15. You are most likely to conceive if you have unprotected sex five days before ovulation or on the day of ovulation.

The first day of your period is counted as day one. So, when this happened 20 days before your next period was due, had you just finished your period? If so, that was early in the new menstrual cycle, and probably too early for ovulation. That would mean no risk for becoming pregnant.

Reading your second ASK, with your last period ending on the 5th of this month, I do not see that you were at risk for becoming pregnant.

You cannot see sperm. Semen is cloudy. So, the clear watery discharge may be your own vaginal lubrication.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Anonymous,

But, the fertile time is five days before ovulation and on the day of ovulation. Released sperm can live inside a woman for about three to five days.

I did this last night, I am not on birth control, my period ended about 6 days ago and 5 when I did this (last night) so period started on the 5th. My tracker says I have 19 days left or 20 at the time and projected date to start is the 4th of December. Does this change your thoughts? I'm just worried I was thinking about taking plan b but I don't want to mess with my hormones inside with pills

Hi Anonymous,

Yes, it does. Is your next period due to start on December 4?

Hi Anonymous,

You could reach out to your gynecologist for advice or wait and take an early response test five days before your period is due to start.
I really don't know what else to say.

Maryann
