Hi Anon,

Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community.

The chances are low, but it is possible to become pregnant that close to the time your menstrual cycle is due.

Somewhere between the 12 - 16 days from the next period is when ovulation (the release of an egg) occurs.  But it is possible for some women to ovulate anytime between he 11th and 21st day after the first day of their last menstrual cycle.

Once an egg is released it has between 12 - 24 hours to be fertilized. It's also important remember that sperm live up to 7 days.  During this time, if an egg is released, fertilization will most likely occur.

So yes you can be become pregnant if a viable egg is there and there is sperm to fertilize it.

I hope this helps.

Be well,

~Gillette
