I did something stupid. I had sex with my bf between the 22 nd and 30 june. My peroid was due on the 1st july but it never came. we had an arguement and I slept with an ex on the 4th july..now I took a pregnancy text yesterday and it came back possitive. can it be the last guy`s baby? or is it my bf since I was late before I had sex with the last guy? I cant believe this is happening to me.I feel so stupid and cant believe what I did.

Mandy, I'm so sorry you're going through all this. I know it's horribly stressful and that you're not sure what to do.

Like Alison said, most women ovulate about 14 days before their period begins, or about halfway through their cycle if they have 28-day cycles. Since you were already 3 days late by the time you had sex with your ex, the possibility is good that it is your boyfriend's baby. But to know for sure, you'll have to do a combination of two things -- one, get a doctor's appointment to have them figure out the most likely date of conception, and two, have dna tests if you have the baby to see who the father is.

It's a very tough and stressful situation, but you can work your way through it, step by step. Do you know if you plan to have the child? Can you schedule a doctor's appointment soon?

hi mandy,

I am so sorry that you are going through this! Do you have a good social support network of family & friends that you can talk about this with? Have you talked with your Gynecologist about your options and next steps?

We can not begin to speculate about "who's baby" this could be, and would be inappropriate for us to do so.

If you want to talk about dates, do you have a regular cycle every month, or does it change? How long is your cycle (28-days is the average)? Most women are most fertile at mid-cycle, but cycles can change due to many factors, so unless you know when you ovulated, there is not a clear answer.

Do you need any help with resources or health information?
