Hi ,
I am in a stress since 8 days ago , I missed my period and its now 40 days and there is nothing . Yesterday I did a home pregnancy test but It was negative .

previously my period was regular around 30-32 days but before 2 months it was only 28 days and last month it was 35 days . I am trying very hard to get pregnant but I don't know what to do . I had sex at day 18 & 19 from my last period . I am not sure when is my evolution time ?? I am 26 years old and I got married on Dec 23rd last year and since that time I am trying to get pregnant but don't know what to do . Do I have to see a doctor or its normal?
Thank you

Hi MissRo,

You mention having had a regular, 28 day cycle up until the last few months when it became irregular. Have you been ill? Lost/gained weight? Been under a lot of stress lately? These are reasons for your period to come late or miss it altogether. However, I do think that it's a good idea to see your doctor if your period has been so irregular for more than 2-3 months.

As far as your question on ovulation...it usually occurs during mid-cycle. So, if you have a 28 day cycle you would be ovulating around day 14. With your periods being so irregular, though, it is very difficult to tell when you are ovulating.

Please see your doctor and keep us updated,

Rosa

Hi Rosa,

Thank you very much for your comment. Actually I have gained lots of weight lately and I guess that's could be my problem. I have seen my doctor and she did an ultra sound to check and there is no problem. she recommend either I should visit her at day 2 of my period when it comes back to do a hormone checkup, or wait until I lose some weight. If the problem still exist I can go for checkup again.

Hi MissRo,

Thanks for keeping us updated. I'm glad you have gone to your doctor and that is can be related to your weight gain and nothing else. I'm sure you're working on losing some of that weight but it's a good idea to get your hormones tested as well-- just in case :)
