I'm 14, perfectly healthy, but I've had my period for 4 weeks! It started normally but then just got super light as to spotting and so I thought it was over but nope, I spotted lightly for about a week and now its off an on between spotting and a little bit of fresh blood as if I had cut myself. My mom is a nurse and doesn't know what to do! Any advice? Help!

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

I think it would be a good idea to schedule an appointment with your pediatrician.

Menstrual cycles can be irregular during puberty, when you first start having your period. But, four weeks of on and off bleeding is unusual and should be evaluated by your doctor.

Please keep us updated.

Regards,
Maryann
