ask: Just got erythema nodosum and i work retail. Will being on my feet 8 hours make it worse or make it last longer? Or is it the same recovery rate no matter what?

Hi Anon
Thanks for your post!
Working retail will likely not hinder your recovery but it won't help since bed rest is suggested. Being on your feet 8 hours a day is going to be hard.
But recovery - either way - is usually seen within about 6 weeks, give or take a week or so. Here's a little more on treatment:
Erythema nodosum tend to resolve on their own in about six weeks. They will not cause scarring. Treatment options include the following:
Pain Relief
■Bedrest and elevation of legs
■Wet compresses
■Aspirin or similar nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
■ Potassium iodide ◦300-600 milligrams per day for up to two months may alleviate the discomfort (but iodides can also cause the problem)

Make sure you get plenty of rest after work!
Have a safe and fast recovery!
