Late period

My period has always been irregular. I have been on birth control in the past but currently am not taking any pills. I do have an appointment in mid-October to talk to my ob/gyn about possibly going back on BC.

My boyfriend and I have been sexually active and he always uses a condom, which he checks afterwards to make sure it hasn't broken. So far, so good! The only not good part is that I'm 11 days late with my period. I was also sick at the end of August with an upper respiratory infection, so I was on antibiotics. I was sick in mid-September again with a sinus/ear infection and again took a round of antibiotics.

Long story short, could the illnesses/meds and my history of being late be the cause of this cycle being off? I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet because I keep hoping that my period will just start.

Hi Rory0425,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Changes to your cycle can be due to your illness instead of the antibiotics.  But you need to take a home pregnancy test or see your doctor.
