Female, age 56. My leg I have lost some control over below the knee. I have to conscientiously raise my leg to walk. This has been going on for a month or so. Now the left side of my face on the jaw line is swelling. Any relation?

Hi Anon,

Welcome to EmpowHER! I'm sorry you're suffering from this right now. Is there anything that could have triggered your leg not responding on its own? Any Trauma? It could be caused by a lot of things: nerve damage, bone loss, etc.

As far as the swelling on your jawline-- This could come from a swollen lymph node or it can be due to a thyroid condition--or something else even.

For both conditions, you should really schedule an appointment with your doctor. It is important to understand what is going on in your body. Please contact your doctor and keep us posted.

Best,

Rosa
