light brown discharge after postinor during ovulation, implantation or ecp side effect?

Hi, my my last day of period is December 8 and I had sex on Dec 17 but the condom broke and took ECP (Postinor-2) about 2 hours later. Tonight at Dec 25 (8 days after ECP) I experienced brownish blood when I wipe, which means it's very light. I have heard that ECP side effects include bleeding within 7 days after use, but implantation bleeding can happen between 6-12 days. Is this implantation bleeding or side effects from the ECP? Please advise on my current situation as I am under a lot of stress, I am not emotionally nor financially ready for pregnancy. Thank you.

Thank you for your response, Helena!
So to clarify, it is unlikely that I am experiencing implantation bleeding? I am very worried due to the fact that the period tracker app suggested that the deed happened during the ovulation window (I have read about how it is impossible for an app to track your ovulation, but it still weighs on my mind regardless) and the fact that the side effects kicked in beyond the 7 days window that was specified in the insert.

Hi Anon,

Please do not post the same question more than once. All questions and comments go to moderation first and sometimes it takes a while for us to answer.

The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test if you feel uneasy.

Dear Anon.

Thanks for reaching out to EmpowHER.

This is likely from the Postinor 2. Most women will have a normal period at the expected time, but some may have their period later or earlier than normal. You might also have some irregular bleeding or spotting until your next period. If your period does not come or you just feel unsure, you can always take a home pregnancy test to ease your mind.

Best,
Helena
