I had my Her Option Uterine Cryoablation Therapy System done two years ago April. I was 49 at the time. I have been looking for ladies that had the same procedure (with 1+ years since surgery) to see what their thoughts are i.e. long term side effects, regrets, plus anything positive. I am now pre-mena. and I am not sure if the procedure brought in on earlier then expected. I haven't "yet" regretted having the procedure done as living without ibuprofen, tampons and my heating pad has been great - I hope those sentiments last.

I have Her option in August 2009 one year after it I lost my period and I stared gaining weight ,feeling the Hot flashes. I am thinking it has acelerated the pre-mena , I will be 45 in two weeks, not sure if I should go for a hormonal treament, Should I contact my doctor or it is normal?, Does any one have gone throught the same.

I am scheduled to have this procedure done in a few weeks. I am 45 and have been having hot flashes and weight gain for the past few years. Bleeding has gotten out of control however. Your flashes are probably right on time, many of my friends in our age group are having all these symptoms. Who signed up for this??

I had my cyroablation done on 4/8/2011 at the age of 43. I also was experiencing heaving bleeding with blood clots the size of quarters. I decided to have this procedure done when I passed a clot the size of a golf ball. My periods were heavy for the six days that I was on my menstraul. I have only one concern: I am experiencing heavy, heavy watery discharge. Is this normal and for how long should this last???? I am hoping that I don't get a period anymore. We will see what happens next menstraul cycle. I don't have no regrets having the procedure done.

I had the cryoablation done too this year and my doctor told me that there will be a heavy watery discharge for 3 weeks after the procedure. She said it was the only side effect of the procedure. It was only temporary so I just wore a pad every day for 3 weeks. Its was worth it because now my period is so much lighter! I'm surprised your doctor didnt tell you about the watery discharge.

I had that done ten months ago. I in all my life have never had normal periods.And since I have had this done I have a light period every single month.I was kind of hoping I would not have one at all but I was not so lucky.Before the uterun cryoablation I was having very heavy bleading with lots of large clumps of clots.I could not go to work on my first three or four days and even if i did I would end up having to go home to change.My bleeding would last up to eight days.Now my periods only last three to maybe five but they are light and no blood clots. I am still happy with my choice.

November 29, 2009 - 9:51amI went to a radiologist last week to get an opinion on Uterine Fibroid Embolization as an alternative to hysterectomy. I am 52 and still bleeding heavily. He does not recommend this procedure for women overe 50. It sounds like you made the right choice with cryoablation as you are still doing well 2 years later. In fact yourn post help me to decide to do this over a hysterectomy. My gynecologist tells me the average age for menopause is 51 so I think you made the right choice (my opinion).

I am 48 years old and I have a fibroid and heavy period my gynecologist tells me I have 2 options hysterectomy or cryoablation.
