Welcome to EmpowHER.  Many things can be the cause of lower back pain.  The only way to know indeed the cause might be having imaging test like an MRI or ultrasound done.

Here are some of the causes:

Injury or overuse of muscles, ligaments, and joints.

Pressure on nerve roots in the spinal canal

A herniated disc

Osteoarthritis

Spondylolisthesis

Spinal stenosis

Spinal deformities
