Mam, I recently had grinding(nude) with my boy. He noticed some whitish fluid from his genital after rubbing for 3 or 4 times. He immediately stopped, and asked me to wash the genital parts. I noticed his fluid and my fluid were mixed near my vagina. I took plan B (EC) within 2 hours of the act (name of the pill is iPill trade name and chemical name Levonorgestrel 1.5 mg). It was 12-14 days after my period? Will it result in pregnancy?

Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER. I am glad you reached out to our community with your question.

All emergency contraceptives prevent pregnancy by preventing ovulation. The high dose of levonorgestrel does just that.

If you have a 28 to 30 day menstrual cycle, you were probably close to or about to ovulate when you took the pill. You also took the pill quickly, so it should be effective.

You will know that it worked and you did not become pregnant when you have bleeding. If you do not have any bleeding within three weeks of taking the pill, then you need to test for pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
