wow..that was a fast update! Thanks for letting us know, and I think your post will help other women who use emergency contraception and are experiencing breakthrough bleeding, spotting or late periods.

Take care!

Hi Nikki,
If they were not testing for pregnancy in itself, that will not help you. Usually, pregnancy tests are urine tests prior to any blood work. I would stick with taking a pregnancy test after a week has passed of a missed period, but since you had your normal period in month one, I wouldn't be too concerned at this point. As I noted earlier, irregular periods after Plan B is very very common. We have many women that write in about missed or irregular periods approximately 3 months after using the emergency contraceptive. Take the home pregnancy test on the 16th and then keep us posted.

Did they test for pregnancy? Was the test given before or after your period? If it was before your period, it may not show up but if it was after, then it probably would show if you were indeed pregnant.

Please be aware that you may experience irregular periods for a few months after taking the emergency contraception. It is very common.

It was not a blood test for pregnancy it was for other health issues i've been having... but the test was a week or two after my period was over.

Nikki,

Yes, you should take the test just to rule out the possibility.
