Hello Anonymous,

I am glad that you came to us for advice.

Such a prolonged period is abnormal and puts you at risk for iron deficiency anemia.

You must contact your gynecologist today.

The hormonal imbalance due to fluctuations in estrogen and progesterone during perimenopause can lead to heavy and prolonged menstrual bleeding.

However, uterine fibroids may cause heavier than normal or prolonged menstrual bleeding.

Certain drugs, including anti-inflammatory medications and anticoagulants, can contribute to heavy or prolonged menstrual bleeding.

Regards,
Maryann
