does it mean anything when you can not be between 2 people for more than 2 hours & loud or unexpected noises make you anxious? even after you are aware of what it is you have to calm yourself. example: @ work when the volume gets too loud I start to get upset/angry & I hate surround sound unless I am in a movie theatre..and I always have to sit on an end seat or I will feel like I am being suffocated after about 2 hours..well that's how long I can stand it..I have been like this since high school but I thought it was just because of the other kids..but I am 43 now and it still gets to me the loudness & the crowds...

Hi Anonymous,
From what you explained, you certainly have an issue that is triggered by loud noises. Have you been to a doctor? I would do two things if I was in your position....first, I would have your hearing checked as there may be an underlying reason why loud noises causes you discomfort to get upset. If you hearing is okay, then I would seek help in a mental capasity. It is a great thing that you know what triggers your anxiety so start there and make an appointment with your doctor.

Keep us posted.
