Hello Rosa,

I did actually get my level up to 11.5 (checked April 22). I have my Pre-admission teting on Tuesday. What has been happening is I will have days where I bleed for 3 hours out of the day or nothing morning, noon then start out of nowere in the evening (like last night) for a few hours then nothingtil the next evening. Very sparatic. Urination with no sign of blood, but seeing blood when I wipe. I also forgot to mention I also had to get on birth control to help regulate the bleeding, but it was as effective as I expected. What my REAL concern is, is if i can be pregnant (will find out at pre-admission test). As I mentioned before there was a time that I thought I was in the clear and had intercourse with my partner (at that time I was wearing the ring). Anyway, thought I was in the clear and wearing the ring and my partner and I let go (hey we only get 2-3 weeks clear and he was away for almost 2, so). When the light came on we were so not in the clear. So that was another reason for the inital question of the type of bleeding.

RayKnee,

Menstrual Cycle bleeding is not sporadic, it is continuous for 3-7 days-- so if you haven't had any continuous bleeding for May then you may not have had a period. It is very difficult to tell given that you've had bleeding from the fibroids for the last month. In my opinion, you should go to the doctor today and not wait until pre-admission testing next week. It is best to be safe and understand what could possibly be going on.

Also, if you had sex while wearing the ring then you are protected.

Keep us posted,

Rosa

Rayknee,

Menstrual bleeding will last at most 7 days, sometimes you can see the shedding of the lining of your uterus but usually we know this because it starts at a date we are expecting and ends 4-7 days later. Today is June 1st-- if you are still bleeding, please get to your Doctor's office or ER ASAP. If your hemoglobin was at 3 before and you have been bleeding for the last month, it is imperative that you go. A hemoglobin level of 3 is dangerously low-- I am not sure if you had gotten it back up to a normal level but bleeding for a month isn't good for anyone's health especially if you already have a history of fibroids. Please get to your doctor and keep us posted!

I have Fibroids (6 all sizes). Went to my primary Dr. went complaints of shortness of breath, chest pains and racing pulse. The next day I was getting a blood transfusion (Feb) because my hemoglobin level was 3. My GYN said you need to have a myoectomy. Having it is done Fri, June 17th, 2011. Yes, should have had it done already, but keepin my level up and wanted to wait until my son was finished school. Anyway, of course this month I have been bleeding since May 2nd. I thought 1) that was the start of my mentraul cycle, then Fibroid bleeding usually prolongs. Well twice thought it was off, but after having intercourse found out differently. Althoug I am having the surgery in a few weeks, I was just wondering is there a way to tell the difference between Mentrual and Fibroid bleeding?
