Mild Osteopenia

Hi! my mon has got a wound on her right leg foot, doc sugessted for Xeray, and in the exrzt report they mentioned as
1.Bones under review show mild osteopenia
2.Mild soft tissue swelling of the foot noted.
can you please guide me what it is exactly and what treatment i should get

Hi Anonymous,
Osteopenia is generally considered the first step along the road to osteoporosis, a serious condition in which bone density is extremely low and bones are porous and prone to shatter. Since the medical evidence suggests (under review), they are only considering it at this point.

Physicians usually run bone density tests to identify possible osteoporosis or the beginning of it. Did your Mother have this completed and do you know what the results were?
