Hello Jayasree,
My cycles used to vary between 28-42 days. Once I did acupuncture, my cycles were every 30 days. You might consider alternative medicine to see if it will help improve your fertility. A monitor is a great idea. If you can't afford one, I'd suggest keeping an eye on your cervical mucus. It will not give you advance notice, but it will help you identify when you are ovulating.
Good luck,

jayasree,
Thank you for your post and welcome to EmpowHer. Since you don't have a 28-day cycle, It's a little hard to tell when you will ovulate. With a 28 day cycle, ovulation occurs at or around day 14. However, I would say that you probably ovulate one week later. It would be beneficial for you to purchase an ovulation predictor kit or take your basal body temperature every morning. Around the time of ovulation, you will see a rise in temperature. By the time you notice this rise in temperature, you have already ovulated. That is why charting works best when done for a few months. What you are looking for is a rise in temperature of about .4 degrees.
Hope this helps!
