Hi, me and my girlfriend had sex on the 6th of August and took the 1st tablet of Postinor 2 soon after sex and continued the second exactly after 12 hours as instructed. This was at the latter part of her periods. After a week (12th of august) she experienced little blood on her undies and we assumed it's due to the pills. And her due dates on next period was on 1st of September. (Today 12th sep) So far she didn't get her periods and she get some cramps which she assume it's menstrual but there is no bleeding. I did a urine pregnancy test on 4th of September and still it was Negative.. Please advise. Could she be pregnant?

Hi Maryann,

Yes she was on the last day of her periods. And she took the pills as instructed. But it's been 13 days after she missed her periods (Supposed to be on 1st September) And she has some backaches and feeling hungry most of the time. Other than that there is nothing else. Our only worry is that she doesn't get her periods. And of course we are not ready for a baby..

Hello Benson123456,

Welcome to EmpowHER community.

Let me sort this out. It was your girlfriend who took Postinor 2 following intercourse.
She was having her period at the time. She did a home pregnancy test and it was negative.

It can be assumed that she is not pregnant.

ECP cause changes in the menstrual cycle. The next period could start earlier or later than expected. Flow can be lighter or heavier than normal.

Regards,
Maryann

Hi Maryann,

Yes she was on the last day of her periods. And she took the pills as instructed on time. But our worry is that her periods are late for 13 days. (Supposed to be on 1st September) She get some backaches and feeling hungry often. Other than that she is okay. And the blood spot which took place after one week of intercourse. And the pregnancy test was done 4 days after assumed period commencement date where it came negative. So do you think there is an possibility with all these? Cuz we are still not ready for it.

Hello Benson123456,

I don't think there was a high risk for pregnancy. Just wait for her period to start.

Maryann
