Missed 2 days of birth control pills before 2nd month starts

I am currently on my 2nd pack of birth control. Before taking the 2nd pack however, I have missed 2 pills in the beginning of my cycle. From then on, I took my birth control as usual schedule because I've experienced continuous spotting from taking more than 1 pill per day while taking the previous package of pills. After 6 days, I had unprotected sex. Having been with my boyfriend for several years, I am not stressing out too much about STDs . However, I'm slightly concerned about my chances of getting pregnant. Please help me out!

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for seeking our advice.

If you had been taking your birth control pills consistently, after missing the first two pills in the new pack, you should have been protected when you had sexual intercourse six days later.

I am slightly confused and somewhat concerned about the spotting. Why were you taking more than one pill per day? Was that to make up for the two missed pills? Are you still spotting?

Regards,
Maryann

I was taking more than 1 pill per day in order to make up for one day I missed. That might have upset my hormones. I started spotting several days before my monthly began, but I'm fine now! Thank you so much for your input!
