Missed Birth Control

I missed the last two active pills of my birth control pack, so I had an extended placebo week of 9 days (and bled during this time). I started my new pack, but had unprotected sex on day 2 and day 5 of the pack (i.e I've had less than a week of active pills since the extended placebo week). Has my protection been compromised? What's the likely-hood of ovulation in this situation?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

This is similar to starting a first pack for the first time - you will be immediately protected.
Best,
Susan
