okay, so there are 8 thousand am-i-pregnant posts on the web. i take a three month pill, seasonique, missed two, then took two, then think i missed two agan, then maybe missed one here and there, even have some left in the pack. this is the worst round of birth control memory i've had in my entire life. i have unprotected sex most days a week, i'm a month into my pack and honestly can't remember which days i missed and which days i played catch-up. i also take minocycline 50 mg for rosacea. today, i felt something i haven't felt for some time, a pain, almost like a small needle, right into where my left ovary should be. I used to feel this when I was a teenager, i've been taking birth control for a long long time now. the pain was intermittent for the morning. nothing severe, but definitely a presence of sensation. what kind of odds are we looking at that I just ovulated? and if i did, how are the other barriers going to help, such as hostile environment for the sperm. I had sex most days but not yesterday, so i think i'm already screwed if that indeed was ovulation.

I can't find any statistics on how low birth control efficacy drops if you absolutely suck at taking your pill on time. are we talking null-in-void on the birth control, or maybe a 10% chance instead of a 1% chance. I marked today on my calendar and will take a hpt in two weeks.

Any feedback on this?

Hi heidivee,

If you are concerned it might be good to see your doctor and explain how you feel.

Best,

Hi heidivee,

Welcome to EmpowHER.  Any time you missed a pill, your chances of becoming pregnant are higher.  Specially if you ain't using  another form of protection.  Its important you discuss this with you doctor and choose perhaps another form of birth control.  Since the pill, you keep forgetting to take. Some of the signs of ovulation are, abdominal cramps, an increase in clear slippery vaginal secretion. You might want to take a home pregnancy test if you experience a missed period.

i'm now at 8 dpo (if that was indeed ovulation). i've been feeling other odd things like last 3 days can't taste spicy food, get flushed, had a low grade fever 6/7 dpo, got very moody 6 dpo and starting to get fuller bbs 7/8 dpo, cramping the first few days after O and also very dry since O.

should i trust a urine hpt? I was going to test 11 dpo 13 dpo and 15 dpo. if still negative should i go to the doctor for a blood beta hcg or just assume that there's nothing there.
