Missed Next Choice Pill

I am not on birth control and have irregular periods. Last one was at the end of September 2011. My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex for a whole week. He came inside me on December 3rd in the middle of the night. We then had unprotected sex the next day(december 4) two different times where he came inside me both times. I went and got a Next Choice pill on December 5 and took the pill about 8:30pm.... I now have realized that I missed taking my 2nd dose of Next choice. Will the first pill be strong enough to stop the ovulation? Is it harder for me to get pregnant since my period was irregular lately? Any advice would be wonderful!

Hi Anon,

If you missed your second dose of Next Choice then it was not taken as directed and it may or may not work. Before that you had unprotected sex several times which can also result in pregnancy. Having an irregular period doesn't mean that you can't get pregnant or that it is more difficult-- it's just more difficult to determine when you are ovulating. Was there any possibility that you could have been pregnant prior to this months incidents? If not, please wait at least 2 weeks and then test for pregnancy.

Good Luck,

Rosa
