Missed Period

My last period was on January 15 and ended Jan 21/22nd. My periods are generally very irregular overall. Previous to that my period was November 29.2010 to December 7, 2010. I had unprotected intercourse with my partner in January when the cycle ended 21/22nd and there was no ejaculation. I have still not had my period and its now March 13th. I am not feeling signs of nausea, sore breasts but do get some lower abdominal cramps when I press on my stomach and lower ab area, perhaps from the worrying. I have been a bit stressed in February and now with this also playing on my mind..makes me even more nerve wrecked. I do feel also that I am showing signs of gastritis in upper ab area. I have not taken any tests because of my irregularity. Pls advise. Thanks.

Hi Miscortes,

Thanks for the advice and information. Actually, not long after I wrote the question, the following day I started my menstrual cycle! Thank goodness! I had been on a mild birth control in the past as my periods are quite irregular..may have to consider this again as menstrual cycle is so irregular, it can be frustrating at times and when it is skipped a month, second day for the most part, I have a tendancy to feel numb from the waist down and major cramping.

Thanks though once again!

Hi Flustered,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. From your explanation, I would assume that you’re not pregnant and that you may just be having your ‘normal’ period as they appear to skip a month or two.
If you are concerned of a possibly pregnancy, take a pregnancy test to rule out that possibility. Secondly, have you thought about birth control? I say this for two reasons. One, it will help regulate your period and second, it will protect you from possible pregnancy if taken correctly.
I hope this helps and keep us posted.
Thank you,
Missie
