I need help please! My last period was on October 25 lasted for about 5 days which is my average. On Dec. 22 i had sex with my boyfriend but we used a condom. i noticed i my period had been due so about a week or two after my missed date i took a home pregnancy test both came out neative. then a couple weeks later i told my boyfriend about the situation and he wanted to take another test so i did and once again both came out negative. Now its Jan. 1 and still no period! I've been stressing about this situation and i've noticed i've been breaking out a lot more which usually happens around my period but other than that nothing much is really different. this is not the first time my period is off but this is the longest i've gone without it. what should i do? Im 17 and i cant really reach out for help to my parents, im not on birth control and i dont know how to get on it without having my parents think completly wrong. so help me please!

Hi! Can I ask you a question? My period was 23,January until now 19,March ,I haven't seen it so I miss it two months . Actually, I feel difficult to sleep and wanna vomit when I smell something bad. I haven't checked pregnancy test yet because I used to get the negative. Should be I pregnant?

You mentioned your last menstrual period was October 25th, but did not have unprotected sex until December 22nd. Did you have a period in November?

If you were expecting your period on/around December 25th, and just had unprotected sex on December 22nd, a home pregnancy test would not be accurate. You would need to wait at least a few weeks, as it takes about 14 days after ovulation (assuming the worst-case-scenario that you ovulated at the time you had unprotected sex) for the fertilized egg to implant, meaning you would be pregnant.

If your period does not begin by the end of the week, take another home pregnancy test. Since you are sexually active, you need to be seeing a Gynecologist (you don't have to tell your parents; you just need to let them know it's for your health and your menstrual cycles are a little irregular). It is important to use birth control, either the pill or other hormonal contraception, or condoms, if you are so worried about being pregnant AND can't tell your parents about needing to go to the doctor.

Please let us know when your period begins, or if you take another test. If your period does not start by the end of January, it is important to talk to your regular doctor or find a Gynecologist, as even if you are not pregnant, it is important to rule out any medical conditions that may be preventing your periods (you would have missed three consecutive periods by this time).

Thanks for the comment, no i had no period on November, but everytime we had sex we always used a condom and i even ask him to pull out with the condom just to play it safe. i dont have any pregnancy symptoms just a somewhat more increased vaginal discharge. I also spoke to my mother and she noticed i havent been getting my period so she decided to take to the doctor if i did not get my period by the end of this month (January). Now that she noticed my biggest concern is the doctor letting her know im not a virgin.
My mother told me they'd probably give me birth control to regularize my period. What should i expect from/at the doctors visit?

Since you are 17, are you able to call the doctor's office and ask to speak with a nurse? I think you have very valid questions:
1. "Since I am under 18, is everything I discuss with the doctor confidential, or will my mom know details about my medical records, sexual health?" You can let the nurse know that you are on your mother's/parent's insurance (correct) so they know about the appointment, you just want to know if the information you share with the doctor during your visit is confidential.
2. "What can I expect during my first doctor's visit?"

These are GREAT questions, and you can ask the nurse if you will be needing to expect a Pap Smear. If so, we can provide information for you about this, what to expect, etc.
