Hi, I had my period at the end of october and didnt have it agin until the 1st of January. I have took some HPT and they all say negative. Recently, I noticed that in the past 2 or three weeks I have been nauseous, bloated, tired, having restless nights, constipated, gained some weight, and been very emotional. I have no clue whats going on and I plan on taking another HPT Sunday or around that day.

Hi mckenzie_2003,
Thanks for coming back and updating us. Our bodies aren't like an alarm clock that goes off at the same time as expected. Your period can change from month to month, and can be late or early, change in hue and heaviness, etc. Try and remain calm. If the HPT is negative, you don't have the pregnancy hormones it detects. If you don't get your period in the next few days, you can take another HPT, or call your doctor to get checked out. A menstrual cycle typically ranges from 24 to 35 days, and can be anywhere from 2 to 7 days in length. It also can be light one month, and heavier the next.
If you are concerned about being pregnant, you may want to avoid putting yourself at further risk by using condoms, spermicide, birth control pills or some other method in addition to using the withdrawal method.

I took a HPT today and it was negative. I have been nauseated, having headaches everyday, extremely tired, bleeding gums, unusual dreams, dry skin, frequent urination, dry mouth, cramps in my lower back and stomach, I cant lay on my stomach a certain way or it hurts my boobs when usually I can. Yesterday and the day before I was feeling so sick I thought I was going to vomit. I dont know if this is also a factor but for the past week or week and a half i have been having these same symptoms. Is there a chance I could be pregnant?

Hi McKenzie,
Not necessarily. Your body cleanses itself by releasing vaginal discharge which is commonly clear in color. This is completely normal. This discharge may change during your menstrual cycle and during ovulation which may look more like a milky white color. This is also completely normal.
If the discharge changes color or has a foul odor, you should be checked by your physician for possible sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Any other symptoms such as itching or redness also, otherwise, vaginal discharge is very normal.
Does this help answer your question?

Im not sure if this would have anything to do with it but I have noticed alot of vaginal discharge that is clear. Is that a pregnancy symptom?

I usually dont start feeling symptoms to start PMS until a few days before Im supposed to start. Yeah me and my boyfriend use the withdrawl method mostly everytime. Ever since I have had my period I have not ever had symptoms like this were I feel sick most of the time and certain foods that I normally eat just do not taste the same now. I know I had a pregnant friend and thats what she said happened to her. Thanks for the help.

As you know, the withdrawal method is only about 70% effective at preventing pregnancy. Pregnancy tests typically aren't accurate until you've missed a period, and it takes roughly 10-14 days for a pregnancy to occur after a sexual encounter. It would be too early for symptoms to be happening. Try to remain calm, and if you miss your period, take another test then, or wait until a few days after you miss your period. If you get your period, you're not pregnant.
If you need more information about birth control methods, let us know. Or you can talk with your doctor about getting on birth control pills (which also may help you period to be more predictable).

Hi Mckenzie_2003,
Thanks for your question and for joining EmpowHER.
If you had your period January 1st, that means you are due to have your period again sometime next week. That means you very likely have PMS right now. Let's say if you don't get your period by Feb. 1st, take another HPT. If you get your period, you're not pregnant.
Why do you think you could be pregnant? Have you had unprotected sex?
Good luck and let us know how else we may be able to help you. Let us know how you are doing.
