July 30, 2016 - 8:13amThere are other reasons besides pregnancy that can cause missed or irregular periods. Missing your period does not necessarily indicate there is a serious problem. It is usually nothing more than hormonal imbalances. Gynecologists usually suggest taking birth control to balance hormones and regulate your period. However, it is not always necessary to have regular period unless there is a more serious underlying problem.
