I'm on Kariva birth control. I am extremely good about taking it, within 15 minutes of my 11 PM "time" My last couple periods have been strange, one light with more discharge, and last month was pretty heavy.
My period is due today, but I've only had a little bit of brownish red blood. I have had cramps throughout the day. I had anal sex 2 weeks ago, and he didn't use a condom and may have finished in me. I also suffer from severe depression/anxiety, and recently got off medication for that. So I don't know if I should be concerned for pregnancy, if it's the BC pills, or if it is the general stress of my condition.

Talk with your gynecologist about this. You may need to switch to a different birth control pill to better regulate your menstrual cycle.

I started taking it in December I think, and none of my periods have been 'similar', only that they start on Tuesdays usually haha. I've had several discharge and spotting issues on this pill, but was waiting for it to work out. I've had spotting for two, three weeks before.

Hello tee_mik,
How long have you been taking Kariva?
Some women experience changes in their menstrual periods as a minor side effect of taking this oral contraceptive. It can take about 3 months for your body to adjust.
Since you take your pills regularly and on time, I do not think you are at risk for getting pregnant. It is very likely that the small amount of brownish red blood, that you noticed, signals the start of your period.
Just relax. Increased stress will delay the start of your period.
