Missing a pill on birth control?

I've been on the pill for about 8 months now. I'm usually very reliable at taking my pill every day at the same time. At the end of my pack last month, it seems that I have missed 1 active pill, and it was my last one. Last month was a bit rough because I didn't take my pill at the same time every day, but it was only within an hour or so late/early. My fiancé and I refrained from having sex, and I got my period a day early since I started my placebo pills a day earlier because of the pill I had missed. I am now about to start my second week of my new pack, and I have taken seven active pills. My fiancé and I had sex, and we were sure to use a condom. Should I be safe considering I have already taken 7 active pills even though I had missed one active pill last month? I'm not sure how much it matters, but I am on a 24/4, so I have 24 active pills and 4 placebos, I'm not sure if it decreases the chance of pregnancy because there's more active pills.

Hello bm23,

Welcome to the EmpowHER community. I can put your mind at ease that you should not be concerned. You and your fiance' have been very responsible. You had your period. You have been taking your pills correctly and are protected from an unwanted pregnancy.

Regards,
Maryann
