ask: MUFAs and belly fat loss?

For the past few months, I've been hearing and seeing a lot about "MUFAs" - essentially, good, mono-unsaturated fats that can help shrink visceral belly fat. Looking as though a relative of the Michelin tire guy, I thought I'd look into the "Flat Belly Diet" plan.

Now, I'm relatively fit and active. But, my midsection has expanded with age and whatever, and the visceral fat is what concerns me most.

I've noticed a slow, gradual change in my waistline over the past few days, and a more forgiving scale. Now, if I could just keep this downward trend going for another 20 lbs!

Has anyone tried a "MUFA" focused diet?

Haven't tried it myself, but after a little research, it looks like the following foods might fit your description ... Oils, nuts and seeds, avocados, olives and (best of all) chocolate. Keep in mind, when the experts say oil, they mean canola oil, flaxseed oil, olive oil, peanut oil, pesto sauce, safflower oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, sunflower oil and walnut oil.

This article from from Prevention magazine has the details

Has anyone else tried some of these 'belly' busting foods?

Thanks for all of the great advice. I just had a baby 2 weeks ago and I am anxious to get my body back. I have always been in shape and this is making me crazy. I think with this advice and the belly bandit ( http://www.truebabylove.com/belly_bandit_s/61.htm ) I bought, I think i am off to a good start. Thanks for the help!
