Hi Anonymous,
January 11, 2011 - 9:04amThank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. This really is a question for your son's pediatrician and/or gastroenterologist. It has been published that in addition to medication, following an anti-inflammatory diet may help relieve symptoms of inflammatory bowel disorders like ulcerative colitis. However, it is important to work with your doctors on identifying the cause of your son's problem so you are sure to not cause more problems in treatment.

I'm sure it's troubling dealing with your son's condition. GI issues run in my family, so I know how it is, especially when the little ones have it.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.
