Guide

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.  I'm so sorry to hear about your situation.

It is important to feel wanted in your relationships.  This behavior is most likely normal for him and that is why he never considered your feelings in the matter.

I suggest that you let him know exactly how this makes you feel.  During these conversations, it is best to use "I" statements instead of "you" statements.  For example, "I feel unwanted when you do..." instead "You make me feel unwanted."

The first sentence expressed a need, while the second puts him in a corner in which he must defend himself.

If you want to continue your relationship with him, open communication about your needs, and also things that upset you, is the first place to start.
