Q:

Is my dizziness a cause for concern?

I am in my mid twenties and experience spells of dizziness whenever I bend to the ground and get up immediately, or whenever I get up suddenly from a sitting position. My head feels like its spinning, my vision gets blurry and I have to brace on something to keep my balance. This is happening frequently and I am now concerned. What could be the reason for this especially so frequently?

Hi Kennie,

I suffer also from Sinusitis and Seasonal Allergies and the only thing that has helped me with all these feelings of dizziness and unbalance is getting the allergy shots every week. But you should see your doctor first and let him determine the cause of your symptoms.

Best and keep us posted,
Daisy

Hi Kennie,

Welcome back to EmpowHER. There are many things that can cause dizziness and the unbalance feeling. I myself, have been through that and felt scared to. Until i visited my doctor and he had me do an MRI of the head and inner ear. It turned out to be my Seasonal Allergies was causing all the congestion and affecting my ears. That's where all the dizziness and unbalancing came from. That why it is important for you to visit your doctor and he will perform the right test to help you determine what is the cause of all your symptoms.

Best of luck Kennie and keep us posted,
Daisy

Thank you Daisy,
I do suffer from sinus problems and allergies. I have had ear infections too, I never thought that all these were related.

I have been to the doctor to treat my sinuses and have been given medications for it. Are there specific medication to treat the spells of dizzinesss? I will however, definately ask the doctor for advise. Thanks again.
