Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for coming to us with your concern about dry skin on your eyelids and the corners of your mouth.

Before applying lubrications, moisturizers, or lotions to your eyelids to relieve the dryness, it is important that you talk to a dermatologist to find the underlying cause. Your dry skin could also be a sign of an underlying skin condition such as blepharitis.

Causes can range from a reaction to makeup, shampoo and hair dye to underlying medical conditions such as bepharitis, which is a chronic inflammation of the eyelids caused by excess bacteria.

Causes of dry skin at the corners of your mouth can range from chapped lips and over licking your lips to angular cheilitis, which is inflammation of the lips.

Regards,
Maryann
