Guide

Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER.

Swelling of the ankle and feet is relatively frequent symptom in most people. In itself it does not represent a disease but rather the symptom of an underlying disease.

How old are you? Have you been diagnosed with any medical conditions?
Has any thing changed in your life in the last three weeks? Do you stand on your feet for a long period of time?

Causes of foot and ankle edema include
pregnancy, certain medications, congestive heart failure, liver failure, alcoholism, lymphedema and infections.

Please call and speak with your primary care physician. This cannot be ignored..

Regards,
Maryann
