My Girlfriend has been diagnosed with Arachnoid Cyst and suffers from Regular episodes of headaches, migranes and pain in her arms or limbs or all together at times and because of this she has mood swings due to the pain and it really pains me to see here like this because she is so kind and loving and because of the pain she just gets so depressed and angry and then afterwards sad because she realises that what she did while in pain wasn't fair to me but I'm okay with everything I just want to make her feel better and comfort her.

Please I beg anyone out there who has a partner goin through with such chronic pain to tell me how I can be a better help to her and make her get through the pain because I feel so helpless especially because Iam unable to meet here face to face for long spans of time due some personnel issues but we communicate regularly via texts and when ever she tells me shes in pain I just dunno what to do or say all I feel is helpless
Please I need advice and guidance
I really love this girl and aspire to have a life with her, If there is no cure for her condition I wana know how I can make her life a one with happiness and as less difficulty and discomfort as possible.

Hello and welcome to EmpowHer,
Im so sorry to hear about your girlfriend's condition. I commend for exploring more ways to show your love and support and I'd be happy to give you advice on what else you can do.
If traditional medicine has not given her relief she can try other alternative options
It may be helpful for you to introduce her to these treatments and perhaps help her pursue long lasting cure. Options would be:
1. Acupressure
2. Acupuncture
3. Aromatherapy
4. Reflexology
The best thing you can do is help for find long lasting relief and I believe these options will do that.

Here are ideas you can try:
-have flowers delivered to her door when you are alway (everyone loves a special delivery)
-if she's into board games try one for "lovers" for example "50 Ways to Please your Lover" by Carlton Books. Its a board game that provides intimate fun for couples.
-bring over her favorite movie and take-out dinner from a restaurant she likes (don't forget to bring the wine and candles!)
-give her a massage with lavender oil (it helps alleviate headaches), she will feel loved and be able to relax
-if you're away, send her an e-card! They have music and cute characters that would cheer her up
-make a small care-package of aromatherapy oils for headaches. You can find these oils in small vials at whole foods or herbal shops (lavender oil, eucalyptus, helichrysum, roman chamomile, peppermint, and spearmint all help alleviate headaches)

I hope this gives you a good start. I wish you guys all the best!
