Hi confused70637,
Thank you for sharing your question with the EmpowHER community! It is important to understand that anytime you have unprotected sex, your chances of pregnancy are higher. It is possible that your period may be late. Irregular periods can be caused by a variety of things including stress, increased exercise, excessive weight gain or weight loss, travel, medication, illness, and birth control.
However, the only way to truly know if you are pregnant is to take a pregnancy test. If you plan on continuing to have sex and don’t want to get pregnant, I suggest using protection or getting on some form of birth control. It will help ease fears and lessen chances of pregnancy.
I hope this has helped! Please keep me updated and let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
