Hello Anonymous,

Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for reaching out to us with your concern regarding no sign of healing. Have you or your mother spoken with her physician? Has the orthopedic surgeon who took care of her following the fracture offered any suggestions or expressed concern that the fracture has not healed?

Rheumatoid arthritis is a chronic inflammatory disorder that affects the lining of your joints, causing a painful swelling that can eventually result in bone erosion and joint deformity. It is an autoimmune disorder.

Rheumatoid arthritis itself, along with some medications used for treating rheumatoid arthritis, can increase your risk of osteoporosis — a condition that weakens your bones and makes them more prone to fracture.

Anonymous, does your mother have osteoporosis? This may have contributed to the fracture and may be the reason for the delay in healing.

I cannot recommend supplements, only her physician can do that. I do think you need to know the underlying reason for delay in the healing of the fracture.

Regards,
Maryann
