My period always starts on the 5th or 6th but it is the 9th going on to the 10th and it has not started. I have never had sex, but i am having "period paines". I don't know if I should tell my mom. I am active, I play soccer, do zumba, and work out. I need help. What should I do?

Hi Hayley,

If you are not concerned about possible pregnancy, it is not common to have irregular periods well into your 20s. Sometimes you can even skip a period for a whole month and there is not specific reason, just that it sometimes occurs especially since you are so active...this is very common.

Don't worry too much. If you miss a period for over 3 months, you should make an appointment with your OBGYN.

Good luck,

Missie
