My period is 4 days late and it was a few days late last month and it's usually always on time, but last month I was a few days late also. What is going on?

Hi, Anon.

Thank you for your post.

Menstrual cycles may happen around the same date every month or they may be irregular. A menstrual period is considered late if it hasn't started 5 or more days after the day you expected it to start. Missed or late periods happen for many reasons other than pregnancy. Common causes can range from hormonal imbalances to stress. As long as you are not missing periods and they are otherwise normal in duration and flow, I'd not worry too much about being a few days off.
