Hi Anonymous,
Is this the first time that you have had a longer than normal period? A period lasting more than 7 days is considered abnormal and especially for you. Some possible causes include a hormonal imbalance, thickening of the lining of the uterus, uterine fibroids and pelvic inflammatory disease. Sometimes, stress, changes in diet or exercise routine and weight gain or weight loss can cause abnormal menstrual bleeding.Since you have been bleeding for 9 days, you must call your doctor. With a physical exam, asking you questions, doing blood tests, your doctor will be able to determine the cause of your abnormal period. Please keep us posted.
